UNLV Graduate College Invites FIG’s Lawson for Leadership Advisory Board


Las Vegas, NV -- The UNLV Graduate College’s Leadership & Social/Entrepreneurship Advisory Board has invited TaChelle Lawson, founder and president of FIG Strategy & Consulting, to join the Board, effective immediately.  Ms. Lawson’s invitation to become a Board member was extended by Kathryn Hausbeck Korgan, Ph.D., Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate College, and Elizabeth D. Kahane, MPH, Director of Development for the Graduate College.


The Leadership & Social/Entrepreneurship Advisory Board partners with the Graduate College to develop and implement programming for graduate students with resources on entrepreneurship and leadership skills training.


The Graduate College at UNLV collaborates with the University’s academic colleges and departments to provide outstanding graduate programs and to assist graduate students from admissions through graduation.  UNLV currently has more than 5,000 graduate students pursuing excellence in more than 175 graduate programs.

Ms. Lawson founded FIG Strategy & Consulting in 2017, and has been instrumental in bringing DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) issues to the attention of business owners throughout the country.  She has worked with some of the world’s largest and most recognizable brands, among them Mercedes-Benz, NASCAR, Nike, Red Bull, and Louis Vuitton, who’ve all relied on her business acceleration and development expertise in diversity marketing to help drive revenue, increase brand awareness, and improve product positioning.

DEI certified by Cornell University and Diverse Business certified by Dartmouth College, Ms. Lawson is a member of the Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council (WRMSDC), National Diversity Council, and Clark County Business Development Advisory Council (BDAC).

Under her leadership, FIG utilizes the inherent power in diversity, strategic sourcing, and creativity to develop strategies and stories that richen, bolden and position its clients’ brand equity and brand experience for growth.
